This presentation will give an overview of the current status of the biomethane industry and the great potential of such in Ireland. It will focus on the development of initiatives and strategies to growth the biomethane market. Ian will highlight the challenges that Ireland is facing as well as the necessity of instruments and policies to integrate biomethane into the renewable energy share in Ireland.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Speaker information[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Ian Kilgallon has worked with Gas Networks Ireland for ten years, and currently holds the position as Innovation & Business Development Manager with focus on Renewable Energy. Ian has previously served as Market Operations Manager, National Metering Manager, and Market Development Coordinator.  He also currently serves as Industry Board Member with the International Energy Research Centre (hosted by Tyndall, University College Cork), and as Research Supervisor on collaboration projects with both the QUESTOR Centre (hosted by Queens University, Belfast), and the Dublin Energy Lab’ (hosted by Dublin Institute of Technology).
