Ostrobothnia, Vaasa, Finland and Ab Stormossen Oy
Mission
Stormossen Oy is a waste company introducing a biofuel-system. There are also other project going on, as for example a local gaspipe in Vaasa. The collaboration between the waste company, the farmers biomethane-producers (Jeppo Biogas) and Wärtsilä, the gasification plant is very interesting to describe for others. We also want to learn from good practices in other regions and cities.

Local Event – Presentation and workshop: Visions for a methane integrated showroom in Ostrobothnia
27.11.2015 (09.00:12.00)
The Western Finland’s local event will focus on integration of methane based infrastructure outside the natural gas grid. The event will showcase Visions for a methane integrated showroom in Ostrobothnia. The aim is to anchor a concept solution for the region that fulfills the goals of sustainable development by increasing the export and the local methane production as well as creating possibilities for energy storage.
Much of the needed work and planning is already going on within the Vaasa Energy Cluster, but there is no clear link between the projects and their interacation. The goal of the local event is to create the basis for a working platform where local business represenatives, politicians and academics can meet for coordinating ongoing projects.
This half-day event will bring back experiences from the workshop held during Open Days Brussels. We will look on how other regions with similiar circumstances are tackeling the problems. We will raise the awareness about how the Vaasa Energy Cluster can create sustainable solutions for methane integration outside the natural gas grid and how this concept can be adapted in other parts of Europe and the world.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
