Fossil Free Transports in the North
Västerbotten in collaboration
Sweden has the goal of becoming one of the world’s first fossil-free welfare countries. In the project Fossil Free Transports in the North, we deliver strategic support so that all the municipalities of Västerbotten can contribute to achieving this goal. At the end of the project, all the county’s municipalities will be able to lead and transition to a fossil-free vehicle fleet.
Together, we are developing goals, action plans, statistics, follow up and financing support while also sharing knowledge and highlighting good examples. The County Administrative Board in Västerbotten is the project owner. Energikontor Norr and BioFuel Region are partners in this project, which began in the spring 2018 and will continue until 2021.
The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, the Swedish Energy Agency, Umeå Energi, the County Administrative Board, Energikontor Norr, BioFuel Region and all of the county’s 15 municipalities are financing the project with a total budget of SEK 19.1 million SEK.
